I did my first triathlon in late 1998, a sprint distance event
called the Tucson Tinfoilman. It consisted of an 825-yard swim,
a 12-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run. Like my first skating competition,
I was hooked. Had to have more. I was endurance addicted. Ive
since moved to Colorado to train with 2001 ITU World Champion Siri
Lindley, and Ive got my sights set on turning pro someday.
Ive got my work cut out for me. A lot of pro triathletes grow
up swimming or running, and have a pretty solid background in those
sports. I will do my best to intimidate competitors by threatening
them with sneak attack double axels.
