Skating bio:
I began skating in 1986, my first competition was at Murrays
rink and I skated in ISIA level Freestyle 1. I won the gold, which
was pretty easy because there was no one else signed up for this
event. The most difficult maneuver was a waltz jump, which in non-skating
related sports terms, is about as strenuous as picking up a football,
cannonballing into a pool, running with a baton, or swinging the
bat on deck. Nonetheless, I was hooked on skating. Eight years later,
I passed my Senior freeskate, my junior figures, and my pre-silver
dance tests. If youre not a skater, Ill put it into
high school SAT terms: I scored a 1600 in freestyle, a 1400 in figures,
and a 1200 in dance. If only Id done that well on the actual
SAT. I competed all the way up through college, and then joined
the professional ranks, signing onto shows like Ice Capades, Holiday
on Ice, and Hollywood on Ice.
My hometown rink:
The rink where I grew up skating has a very special place in my
heart (and in Chapter 3 of my book). Murrays Rink is located
in Yonkers, New York and you can find more information about the
rink and the Yonkers Figure Skating Club at www.YFSC.org The YFSC
is an amazing club, in which so many of my childhood memories live.

Coaching:
I started coaching at the Tucson Figure Skating Club in 1999 when
I was in grad school at the University of Arizona. The TFSC is a
great club with wonderful members whom I miss very much. Today,
I live in Colorado and I coach at the Sun Microsystems Ice Centre
in Westminster, CO, focusing on choreography, power/endurance, and
freestyle. If you happen to be in the area and would like to schedule
a private skating lesson, please drop me an email! I also run a
week-long skating camp called Camp Colorado, in the summer.
